If you were in Erinn during these past twelve months, you know that 2011 was a year of arrivals. We welcomed the Bard of Avon with three Shakespeare updates that brought the best of Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and The Merchant of Venice to Mabinogi. The addition of Avon was just the beginning. In this special “Holiday Edition” of the Erinn Weekly, you’ll have a chance to take a look back at the past year, take advantage of the last few events and sales of 2011, and prepare for all that 2012 will bring.
Finally, all of us here on the Mabinogi team would like to offer each of you our sincere thanks and best wishes for a happy holiday and New Year. Erinn would not be a veritable paradise without Mabinogi’s wonderful community of players!
Mabinogi 2011: The Year in Review
Hamlet
In January, Hamlet entered Mabinogi as the first of the Shakespearean content updates, bringing with it Theater Missions, a twist on the classic Dungeon and Shadow mission system. Theater Missions in Avon literally put players in center stage of the action. This update also introduced the Destiny System, and a whole host of new skills.
To be, or not to beRomeo and Juliet
A tale of star-crossed lovers entered Erinn in April. Beyond a fresh take on the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet, players also enjoyed developing their own plot of land with the all-new Homestead feature. Combat was reinvented with the introduction of the Lance weapon, and Mabinogians were able to race into adventures on the back of the three new Fire Horse pets.
Wherefore art thou Romeo?The Merchant of Venice
October was more than just a month of scares. The Merchant of Venice arrived in Mabinogi, breaking Shakespearean content out of its confines in Avon and opening it up to all of Erinn. The Commerce System let players create and trade wares, while the new two person Thunder Dragons took flight.
