General Notice about Nexon DDoS Attacks

Dear Mabinogi players,
During the holiday break, a number of players experienced interruptions to service across our portfolio of games. These issues were related to an ongoing Denial of Service (DDOS) attack from an unknown outside party / parties.
DDOS attacks work by overloading a website or online service by spamming it with requests, tying up all possible resources so that genuine players are either slowed to a crawl or unable to connect. This is a type of attack that has increased in popularity recently and has been plaguing high profile games, publishers and even entire gaming networks.
Due to the unexpected nature of these attacks it is difficult to completely safeguard against them, but we have been working to increase our infrastructure to reduce the impact of future incidents.
Our teams will continue to ensure that future attacks are dealt with as quickly as possible to minimize the disruption to your gameplay experience. Providing a stable and enjoyable game environment for you all is of the upmost importance to us.
